MAN MADE DISASTERS IN HISTORY

Individually or in a group no more than four, you will create a project on a MAN MADE DISASTER in history.  (No Natural Disasters)

The project must include the following:

·        An explanation/description of the disaster including how it happened

·        The history behind the disaster. (e.g. What were the events that led up to the disaster?)

·        What were the health effects of the disaster?

·        What were the medical aspects of this disaster? (e.g. How did the medical field play a part in the after-disaster)

 

GUIDELINES – ALL WRITTEN WORK MUST BE TYPED

1)      All topics must be approved by the teacher

2)      This assignment will be presented to the class starting Friday May 23, 2003

3)      All assignments will be on one of the following:

ό      Media presentation

ό      Performance

ό      Display project with oral presentation

4)      Each group (only one paper per group) must have a 1 to 2 page (typed double spaced 12 pt font Times New Roman or Arial) description and analysis of your research.  This will include the following:

Ψ      Where and how your research was done

Ψ      Why did you choose this topic?

Ψ      What did you learn about this topic?

Ψ      A description of the various resources used?

5)      Each group must have an annotated bibliography. This should be written in proper bibliographical form and listed at the end of your report.  Put annotated Bibliography at the top.  List all references in alphabetical order. Go to http://www.library.cornell.edu/okuref/research/skill28.htm for assistance.  You must have at least four references
