Introductory Song Explanation

In order to be eligible for points higher than 240 (80%) you must have an introductory song sung by your team to the tune of "Those were the days."  That is the theme song to All in the Family.

You must take events, ideas, people, concepts, and/or things from your year and make an introductory song performed by your team.  (Either live or on tape)

All In The Family

Boy the way Glenn Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us had it made, those were the days, and you knew where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we can use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states, everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days.

Simpson's - Version

Boy the way the Bee Gees played, movies that John Travolta made, guessing how much Elvis weighed, those were the days, and you knew who you were then, watching shows like Gentle Ben, mister we can use a man like Sheriff Lobo again, Disco Duck and Fleetwood Mac, coming out of my 8-track, Michael Jackson was still black, those were the days.

It is expected that your group will present your newscast the day you are assigned.  I will not accept any excuses at all.  It is your responsibility to make sure your power point will work on my computer; your videotape must be compatible with my VCR.  If you leave town for the Memorial Day weekend, I will not accept an excuse from your parents that you were out of town and could not work on it.  You have 12 days to prepare for this assignment.  You know my expectations and I expect you to live up to them.  It is your responsibility to come to class prepared and ready to present on your due date.  Your presentation must be within the time limit of 8 - 12 minutes and follows the instructions set forth.
