This assignment has two parts -

- The first part deals with identifying the personalities of the Fifties and Sixties, researching one, developing a biography, business card and resume for him/her.

- The second part deals with you and your own biography, business card and resume.

Part I: Attached is a list of names of personalities who, in some way, made an impact politically, socially, economically, or technologically of the decades of the 1960s or 1970s.

A) Your assignment starts with briefly identifying each of these individuals, citing what each did and accomplished to achieve such notoriety.

B) After identifying all the individuals listed, choose one to do additional research for completing part of this project. With the added information, create a one-page biography of the individual chosen. Include the usual -- birth, death (if applicable), where he/she is from/grew up, family, interests, how he/she got star ted in their field, what was accomplished, and any possible amusing anecdotes. Two things: I do not want something lifted straight out of an encyclopedia or web site, and I do want to learn something new. In other words, I want to know more than the fact that Jackie Robinson was a baseball superstar who broke the colorline in baseball.

C) Create a business card for your individual personality -- after all, successful people need a way for people to know who they are. On this card, the following items are required:

Name of the person

A saying which refers to who the person is or what he/she does

A design which, in some way represents the person

A fictitious address and telephone number, unless you find where your person actually lived or did business (use your imagination for this one).

Even though business cards are much smaller for this project use 8.5" x 11" paper.

D) Imagine this person had to change jobs within his/her field of expertise, create the resume your personality would need in order to get employment.

Part II: Now that you got the hang of the biography/business card/resume concept, it is time for the part of the assignment that deals with more specifically with you. Project, if you will, into the year 2025. Now, you are in your early thirties. You are yourself embarking, or have already embarked on a career in whatever profession you have chosen. In order to succeed, it is obvious what you must do.

A) Author a one-page future autobiography of yourself, circa 2025. Begin it with "In 2010, I graduated from Palmdale High School" After that point, it is entirely up to you.

B) Create a business card for yourself, selling your qualities to the outside world. On it, you will include each of the requirements listed above. The only difference is that you are now promoting yourself in 2025, not a personality from 1960 or 1970.

C) Finally, design your own resume in which you would need to get a job you are seeking for in 2025

Each assignment is worth 100 points making this assignment worth a total of 600 points.

Grading revolves around information included, creativity, and adherence to standard writing rules. I am expecting a top-notch effort on this assignment. A simple or poor effort will result in a low grade.
